Little did I know that a chance meeting with a Japanese high school teacher at the edge of a lake in Canada would be the first link in a chain of events leading me to Japan.

About me

Based in New Westminster, British Columbia, I am Lesley Hebert, the author of The Heart of Japan.

My journey to Japan with my family ignited my passion for Japanese culture and inspired me to write this memoir. I invite you to learn more about my journey and discover Japan through my eyes.
